New tax bands from January 2026

The first ₦800,000 of chargeable income is taxed at 0%, then 15%, 18%, 21%, 23% and 25% as income rises — replacing the old 7%–24% PITA scale.

Rent relief replaces CRA

The Consolidated Relief Allowance is gone. Instead, you can claim 20% of your annual rent, capped at ₦500,000 a year.

Minimum-wage earners are exempt

Anyone whose annual gross is at or below ₦840,000 — twelve times the ₦70,000 monthly national minimum wage — pays no PAYE at all.
